Making sure that our clients understand the process of building a new home, or renovating an existing home, is key. Communication, every step of the way, becomes the most essential component of a great relationship between Meridian Homes and our happy clients.
Proper Planning
Preconstruction planning is critical to the building process. All specifications are completely vetted to make sure everyone understands what is, and is not, included in the project. The initial agreement always spells out in excruciating detail the scope of the work, the timeline and the budget. Many, many decisions must be made by our clients before any construction begins to ensure that there are few surprises along the way.
On Time, On Budget
How do we keep a project on track? During the preconstruction phase, most items must be selected to ensure that the costs of all materials fall within the budget parameters. In addition, choosing these items before construction begins allows us to know whether or not the materials will be available when needed so that the timeline is not adversely affected. Our clients can make changes easily at this point, if necessary, so that they aren’t under pressure to make decisions quickly when the building process is underway. Some examples of items that should be chosen in advance are:
-Appliances
-Cabinetry
-Plumbing fixtures
-Electrical fixtures
-Custom built-ins
-Flooring
-Tile
-Hardware
-Exterior finishes
Ongoing Communication
At Meridian Homes, we have very defined communication strategies. For shorter projects, we schedule check-in meetings with our clients each week. For longer projects, these meetings occur every two weeks. At every meeting, we review where we are in the process, discuss any changes or decisions that must be made, and check the budget and the timeline. This way, we can ensure our clients know exactly what is happening along the way. And, our clients know that they can always reach out to us at any time to get answers to their questions or to discuss any concerns. Open and ongoing communication allows us to build quality relationships with our clients…and beautiful homes.
